Arianna S. Gleckel concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial litigation and employment law. She also represents creditors in bankruptcy proceedings in order to protect and preserve creditor’s rights. Her other practice areas include general civil litigation, lending services and landlord-tenant work. She regularly litigates in state and bankruptcy courts.

Ms. Gleckel’s employment law practice includes counseling and representing employers on a variety of employment law issues and employment-related disputes. She advises employers on best practices for hiring and terminating employees and defends employers in matters involving discrimination and wrongful termination claims. Additionally, she drafts employee handbooks, employment contracts, non-compete/non-solicitation agreements and severance agreements.

Ms. Gleckel also represents banks, businesses and other creditors in order to enforce creditors’ rights in bankruptcy proceedings, including obtaining relief from stay, claim and plan objections, cash collateral hearings, adversary proceedings and preference actions. She also counsels individual clients and litigates on real estate sales contracts, contractor disputes and other homeowner issues.

She is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the District of Columbia, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia. Ms. Gleckel is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Bar Association, the Fairfax Bar Association, the Arlington Bar Association, the Northern Virginia Bankruptcy Bar, the Walter P. Chandler American Inn of Court, the DC Chapter of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation and the Women’s Bar Association of the District of Columbia.

Ms. Gleckel currently serves as Chair of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce Membership Development Committee and previously served on the Implementation Task Force to implement Arlington's Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness.

She was quoted in the April 2010 edition of HR Managers Legal Reporter in the article, “Monitor Employee Texts or Not?” and has authored several other industry related articles. She is also a regular contributor to the firm's Employment Law Newsletter and the firm's employment blog Virginia Employment Law Journal.

She graduated magna cum laude from The George Washington University and received her law degree from The George Washington University Law School. Ms. Gleckel was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 2007.
