Appellate Practice
The simple fact is that not all cases end either through settlement or at trial. Frequently, it is necessary to go beyond the trial court stage and obtain a review of or defend the trial judge or jury's decisions. However, not all trial lawyers are experienced in handling appellate matters. While we make every attempt to successfully and economically resolve all disputes as early and as effectively for our clients as possible, we are prepared to go onto the next step when necessary. At Bean, Kinney & Korman, P.C. we have attorneys who are experienced with both the procedures and art involved in prosecuting or defending a case before an appellate court.
Handling an appeal, whether it be at the state or federal level, requires a special skill set which blends both persuasive legal writing with oral advocacy so as to present effectively the client's position and entitlement to the relief it seeks. At Bean, Kinney & Korman, P.C. we have assembled a team of attorneys who are proven in their ability to distill complex factual and legal issues to their essence and persuasively present those issues to an appellate court. Since prosecuting or defending appeals is an area of practice in and of itself, the appellate lawyers at Bean, Kinney & Korman, P.C. not only handle appeals arising from trials or proceedings litigated by members of the firm, but are also asked to step in and handle an appeal arising from cases tried by other lawyers and other law firms.
The appellate attorneys at Bean, Kinney & Korman, P.C. have experience litigating appeals involving a wide breath of underlying substantive issues such as commercial and contract law, fiduciary duties and civil conspiracies, bankruptcy, criminal law, civil and criminal procedure, administrative procedure, domestic relations, negligence, and tax matters, to name just a few. Bean, Kinney & Korman, P.C. appellate lawyers litigate appeals at both the state and federal levels.
