City of Alexandria Courthouse

The Alexandria City courthouse is located on King Street, two blocks east of Washington Street, in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. The entrance to the courthouse is on the south side of the interior courtyard, at the corner of King and Pitt Streets.

There is both metered and non-metered street parking throughout the courthouse area; however, it is often difficult to find convenient street parking, and except for residents, parking is generally limited to two hours. There is a municipal parking garage two blocks east of the courthouse, under the main city square. Access to that garage is on Fairfax Street, ½ block north of King Street. There are several other public garages and surface lots in Old Town, including, under the Holiday Inn on King Street, the garage ½ block north of King Street on Lee Street, and at the corner of St. Asaph and Cameron Streets. You should provide ample time in advance of the starting time for your matter to find parking.

The basement of the courthouse contains the Alexandria Law Library (703-838-4077), which is open to the public weekdays during normal business hours. The Alexandria Bar Association's offices are also located in the library. There are numerous restaurants, coffee houses and shops within walking distance of the courthouse.
