If work isn't also fun, it's just work. At Bean, Kinney & Korman, we foster an environment in which our people can be exactly that - people. Don't be misled, however. Every good law practice is the product of hard effort, sometimes grueling hours and extraordinary demands. We are no exception.

We exist to serve clients well, and take that charge seriously. Without exception, we demand excellence of ourselves, knowing that we are entrusted with our clients' most important concerns, and take great satisfaction in achieving exceptional results. At the same time, we do not take ourselves so seriously that we lose sight of the importance of simple civility, consideration for others and laughter.

Our office environment is the product of talented, dedicated and selfless individuals, attorneys and staff alike, working in teams to deliver legal services in a conscientious, efficient and effective manner. Attorneys are not exalted demigods - they also make coffee, and copies when that's what it takes to get the job done. We don't react well to hearing "it's not my job," or "it's not my problem." Everyone is expected to contribute to the firm's success.

Expectations for attorneys at Bean, Kinney & Korman are not limited to intellect and academic achievement. We look for motivated team players, who don't just want a regular paycheck, but who are interested in developing exceptional professional skills, building a practice and contributing to their communities at large. We encourage vibrant professional interaction within the firm - doors are not closed to anyone who needs guidance or a sounding board.

The firm is not structured into practice departments. Each attorney has proficiency in multiple practice disciplines, many of which overlap. In combination, this results in our ability to assemble teams of attorneys whose complementary knowledge and skills produce extraordinary capabilities. We generally hire to fill specific practice needs, but any attorney who demonstrates the desire and initiative to migrate into other productive practice areas will not be discouraged from doing so.

We encourage professional development and community involvement. Bean, Kinney & Korman attorneys have participated extensively in bar associations, continuing legal education programs, civic organizations, and other philanthropic activities. We take pride in the extent to which everyone in the firm finds ways to give back.

We understand the importance of having the right tools to do the work. The firm is heavily invested in technology and in the never-ending effort to find ways to deliver services more efficiently and effectively. Support staff and attorneys at all levels are encouraged to participate in the process of acquiring systems and products that will help get the job done better and quicker. Our assistants (not secretaries) and paralegals provide motivated and seasoned support - we don't have the revolving door syndrome of staff turnover that often makes professional life miserable.

At Bean, Kinney & Korman, we value innovation, initiative and the insatiable desire to do better, both personally and professionally. You will be nurtured, but not spoon-fed. You will be expected to take responsibility for your professional growth and practice development, and will be supported in your efforts, but not hand-held.
