Arlington Chamber Honors Bean, Kinney & Korman with Green Award

Arlington, VA – The Arlington Chamber of Commerce honored Bean, Kinney & Korman with its green award for the firm’s positive role in the community as it relates to the environment. Bean, Kinney & Korman is one of the most recognized, independent law firms in Northern Virginia, with more than 40 lawyers and over 20 practice groups.

Bean, Kinney & Korman has invested time and energy to develop the firm’s knowledge base relating to the environment and sustainability practices. The firm has extensive historical familiarity with the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program from working on land use and real estate matters. The firm expanded this background by having eight lawyers and a paralegal study and pass the LEED exam to become LEED Accredited Professionals (AP). The firm has more LEED AP’s than any other firm in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. These individuals span Bean, Kinney & Korman’s land use, real estate, business and litigation practices. 

The firm also resides in The Navy League Building, which was one of the first commercial LEED Silver buildings in Arlington County. In 2009 the firm implemented a sustainability policy by eliminating the use of plastic bottled water and engaged in extensive training to reduce waste and increase recycling, use of duplex printing and use of electronic documents. Bean, Kinney & Korman recognizes the importance of incorporating what the firm has learned into its own business model to act as a leader in environmental issues and sustainability.
