Bean, Kinney & Korman's Lori K. Murphy has been invited to present on estate planning to the National Science Foundation on October 6, 2010. The topic of the presentation is Understanding Wills, Trusts and Powers of Attorney.

The presentation will cover the following estate planning topics:

  • Do you need to care about probate?
  • The two documents you absolutely need during your life (not a Will!)
  • The disaster of not having a power of attorney
  • What is a trust and why would I want one?
  • If I have children, do I have to name a guardian?
  • The disaster of naming a child as a beneficiary on an account


Lori K. Murphy
is a shareholder of the firm and focuses her practice on estate planning, land use and estate administration. Ms. Murphy’s estate planning practice includes individual planning and business succession planning. She assists clients with wills, powers of attorney, living wills, living trusts and special needs trust. She has written and published articles on the topic, most recently authoring Easing the Stress published in Financial Advisor Magazine.
