Maryland U.S. District Courts

The United States District Court for the District of Maryland is divided into two divisions, the Northern (Baltimore) and the Southern (Greenbelt). The Federal Judiciary Act of 1789 established this Court in 1789. The Court convened for the first time in 1790 at Baltimore and alternated sessions between Baltimore and Easton until 1822. The break-up of the District into two divisions was accomplished relatively recently.

The Court has a very good website providing an overview of the Court, as well as information related to each of its two divisions.
