Arlington, VA — Bean, Kinney & Korman announced today that James Korman has been recognized as a “Leader in the Law” honoree by Virginia Lawyers Weekly. Each year, Virginia Lawyers Weekly presents this award to those in the legal field who are changing and advancing the law, improving the justice system, serving the community and setting the standard for other lawyers.

Mr. Korman, along with the other honorees, will be celebrated at a reception on October 29 at the Science Museum of Virginia in Richmond.

“Jim Korman brings tremendous wit, wisdom and passion to his work. He is recognized throughout the Commonwealth as a true leader in our profession as a whole, and in particular amongst the domestic relations bar. It is an honor having a colleague like Jim Korman,” said Timothy Hughes, executive managing shareholder at Bean, Kinney & Korman.

Jim is a shareholder of the firm and practices in family law. He was honored for his achievements as counsel on a number of high-profile divorce cases in Northern Virginia, as well as his experience giving back to the legal and local communities.

In addition to his service to clients of the firm, Jim also teaches as an adjunct professor of Trial Advocacy at George Mason University Law School. He is an active member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the Arlington Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar, the American Association for Justice and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Korman is the sixth attorney from Bean, Kinney & Korman to be honored with this award since 2008.
